Note: The subject of this poem, obviously a figment of my mind, had its birth when I spoke to one of my friend who shared similar interests in writing. This was approximately eight years back. This friend of mine had a knack to write about the unspoken, unthought-of, non-discussable topic ‘DEATH’. It seems he had written innumerable poems on this dark topic; what fascinated me or I should say what bothered me as well was how can he write on such a topic.
Well, it took me almost eight years to give it a try. But writing on it in straight, plain words didn’t seem to me a brilliant idea. So I tried to think what death could be best compared as which others might not have done so far. I contemplated and tried to personify ‘DEATH’ as a ‘FRIEND’. I tried to make ‘DEATH’ look more of a positive feeling than something we fear (Necrophobia or Thanatophobia) or do not like to converse about.
Through this poem I have also tried to venture into another way of Poetry, which (when I search on the net now) is called METAPHOR or MIXED METAPHOR. I had read poems like this when I was a kid and pondering into my poetry database, I could conclude that many a poems are written in this form. A literary GURU can only correct my understanding of Metaphor/ Mixed Metaphor. But to my amateur brain of poetry, this looks like one.
Now that the personification is clear, I guess the poem would reflect some more wisdom.

Disclaimer: As already mentioned, its a figment of my thought process, my understanding and perspective and nothing to do with me or my life. So friends take a chill-pill and stop wondering 'ki ye Lakshmi ko kya ho gaya'. I am as chilled as I always was, and will be ... :)
